SpaceX IPO Advertisement Highlights 2026 Market Expectations
A digital billboard in Times Square recently celebrated the launch of SpaceX’s initial public offering, which took place in New York on June 12, 2026. The advertisement underscored the heightened interest among investors in a wave of anticipated public listings from large, privately held technology firms.
Shifting Investor Outlook for 2026 IPOs
At the start of the year, market participants were optimistic about debuts from megacap private companies such as SpaceX, Anthropic, and OpenAI. However, several of those plans have been altered. OpenAI has ruled out a public market debut in 2026, and a number of other scheduled offerings have been postponed.
Kalshi Prediction Market Insights
On the prediction‑market platform Kalshi, traders assess the likelihood that specific companies will officially announce an IPO during 2026. For Kalshi, an “official announcement” is defined as the SEC declaring a company’s S‑1 filing effective, the pricing of the IPO, or a stock exchange assigning a ticker symbol. Contracts are settled using various news outlets as sources.
Among the 23 companies that remain open for trading on Kalshi’s IPO market, only Anthropic shows odds above 50 %. As of early Monday morning, Anthropic’s probability of announcing an IPO in 2026 stood at roughly 75 %.
Other firms have seen their chances decline sharply since the beginning of the year:
- Plaid: from 50 % odds in January to about 10 % currently.
- Deel: from a 50‑50 split in February to roughly a 3 % chance.
- Databricks: fallen from over 50 % odds in January to just 1 %.
- OpenAI: now estimated at a 3 % probability of a 2026 IPO, after CEO Sam Altman said going public did not make sense given AI‑safety considerations. Kalshi traders still give OpenAI a 50‑50 chance of announcing an IPO by June 2027.
IPO Postponements and Market Proceeds
Across multiple sectors, IPO postponements have increased in recent weeks. Although total IPO proceeds for the year have risen sharply—boosted by large‑scale listings such as SpaceX’s June debut—the number of U.S. IPOs priced in 2026 is down approximately 33 % compared with 2025, according to data from Renaissance Capital.
Investor Focus on AI‑Related Companies
Investors continue to look toward major AI firms and suppliers that support the AI infrastructure buildout as potential sources of new capital. Many of these companies have experienced rapid growth, and public markets are viewed as a natural next step to fund further expansion.
Anthropic’s Revenue Raises Questions
Anthropic’s recent financial disclosure showed third‑quarter revenue of $16.8 billion, reflecting weaker quarter‑over‑quarter growth than in prior periods. Analyst Dauvin Peterson of 22V Research noted that the slowdown has prompted more questions than answers about the drivers behind the deceleration and whether Anthropic can meet market growth expectations amid pricing pressure for large language models.
Peterson added that the revised IPO valuation range for Anthropic—now starting at $1.5 trillion versus the earlier expectation of at least $2 trillion—was viewed as disappointing, contributing to pressure on AI‑related equities.
